This Saturday’s Tom Yum festival celebrates two things we love about Charlottesville: great local food and urban agriculture. So why not go for the trifecta and throw Urban Sketching into that delicious mix? We’re thrilled to be participating! We’ll be out in front of the Pink Warehouse from 9am to 1pm on Saturday April 13, joined by Urban Sketcher Steven White and TTFF Artist-in-Residence Frank Buffalo Hyde, among others. Bring your kids, bring your sketchbooks and let’s look at the City Market in a fresh way. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone pick up a book or a paper bag and draw a story about this great gathering of local food pioneers. Photographers will be on hand to help participants upload their sketches. Mark your sketch with the special TTFF rubber stamp and tag with hashtags #TTFF and #urbansketchers to contribute to the visual record of this event.
Participants may enter to win special prizes, including a number of custom-made pocket sized watercolor kits!
But wait…there’s more: this is the date of the 39th Worldwide Sketchcrawl, so we plan to keep sketching all day. Join us at any point. We’ll tweet locations using the #TTFF and #urbansketchers hashtags. At the end of the day, we’ll settle in for a traditional “Drink and Draw,” location to be determined. Stay tuned!
